Here is another quick and easy recipe to prepare a dish in under 30 minutes. While most dishes feature cabbage as an add-on ingredient only, this time cabbage takes the center stage.
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium size cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
1 medium size yellow onion, peeled and minced
Half a head of garlic, peeled and minced
6 strips of bacon, chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper for seasoning
Dash of cayenne pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Place bacon in a pan on medium heat. Let cook until fat is rendered.
Add garlic and sauté until aromatic. Add the onions and cook until tender.
Add the thinly sliced cabbage and continue to stir and let cook for about 10 minutes.
Continue to stir until cabbage is tender.
Season with salt and black pepper. Add a dash of cayenne.
Set heat to low and let simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes or depending on how well-cooked you want your cabbage.
Turn off heat and serve.
