FRENCH TOAST

As you may know by now, I bake sourdough breads like I breathe fresh air. So I find ways to use sourdough breads in the meals I serve my family. A quick and easy recipe to use sourdough breads that is useful for breakfast or brunch, which you can be whipping up year long is French Toast.

This could be the best recipe you will have for French Toast.

INGREDIENTS

3 eggs

¾ cup heavy whipping cream

1 Tablespoon sugar

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

6 to 8 slices of bread (I use sourdough bread)

Butter for toasting

INSTRUCTIONS

In a bowl, combine eggs, heavy whipping cream, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.

Now whisk gently to fully incorporate mixture.

Place bread slices 2 at a time into the egg mixture. Make sure to fully coat the bread slices by flipping on each side.

In a skillet or griddle on medium heat, melt butter.

Toast the bread slices until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

Take toasts out of the skillet or griddle and set on a plate.

Repeat until done toasting with the rest of the bread slices.

Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with fresh fruits and maple syrup.
